IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (or Dutch Embassy) in Bangkok has applied an appointment system for visa application since the 23rd of November 2005. The public has been informed comprehensively through newspaper and their website.

As from the 1st of February 2006, this appointment system will be strictly implemented. Applicants without appointment will NOT be allowed to submit their visa application the same day.

(SHORT STAY) TOURIST AND BUSINESS VISA TO THE NETHERLANDS

Information and procedures for Citizens of Thailand
and Foreigners with a valid work/resident permit

To apply at this Embassy the main destination must be the Netherlands. Only citizens of Thailand and citizens of other countries with a valid Thai residence permit can apply for a visa at the Netherlands Embassy in Bangkok. The Thai residence permit must be valid for at least three (3) months after date of return to Thailand.

Each applicant is required to submit the following with the visa application:

• A completed visa application form, duly signed by the applicant
• Two (2) recent passport-size photographs (colour).
• A letter of introduction from the employer of the applicant.
• A letter of invitation from a company registered in the Netherlands.
• Proof of sufficient financial means.
  The letters of introduction or invitation should clearly state if all costs will be paid by the employer or by the company in the Netherlands that has invited the applicant.
• A confirmed flight reservation and a hotel reservation (or other proof that accomodation has been arranged)
  Do not buy an airline ticket until the applicant has been informed that the visa application has been approved.
• The applicant's passport ,which must be valid for at least three (3) months after date of return to Thailand.
• Sufficient cash for the visa handling fee.

Application procedure:

Day 1 : Submit the application
Day 2 : Contact the Embassy by telephone (02-3095240 from Monday to Friday between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs. to check the status of the visa application.
In case the visa application has been approved, the Embassy staff will state from which date the passport with the requested visa can be collected.
On the collection day between 08.30 and 09.00 hrs, the following should be submitted:

The original airline ticket and a copy for the Embassy
The original travel/health insurance policy , with a minimum coverage of 1,500,000 Baht (or 30.000 Euro) for medical expenses and a copy for the Embassy.

General remarks:

A visa issued includes a margin of 14 days as from the day of validity. Departure after 14 days after the date of validity decreases the period of stay.

or forward the visa application to the competed authorities in the Netherlands at any time.
